What is StartUp Revolution?
About six months ago, we set out to provide a transparently priced, affordable solution for start up businesses that would provide them with a good solid start. Nothing flashy, nothing complicated but a start that would give them the basic business solutions they need. Add to this a team with a variety of expertise to support them and all they need to do is get out there, promote their idea and sell! We don’t believe that 60% of all start up businesses need to fail within a year. Good common sense, sound financial and administrative practices as well as a focus on marketing and sales should see most businesses into profit and hopefully longevity. As a new business ourselves, we’ve taken a step into the unknown to try out new marketing strategies, to determine what works – and what doesn’t. We’ve spoken to a wide variety of people including those at the sharp end at the National Enterprise Agency conference in Stratford-upon-Avon; funding providers such as the banks and funding agencies; local businesses through networking and of course our own clients to find out what it was that they wanted when they first started out. We have had lots of positive and constructive feedback and to those of you who have taken the time to share your thoughts and suggestions, thank you.
Paul has been interviewed for both radio (and yes getting Rhinoceros into the interview was a challenge by the StartUp Revolution team, which as usual he rose to!) and into the daily broadsheets such as the Telegraph.
We have presented at a variety of locations, most notably for us at the University of Essex. Here we presented to both the Entrepreneurs Club (where they were spilling out into the aisles – we think because they were expecting a different speaker!) and to University of Essex alumni, those both in business and those thinking of starting one. The evenings proved very enjoyable with much discussion and debate afterwards.
 We are also very excited to be partnering with the Essex Chamber of Commerce in offering the StartUp Revolution proposition to their members. Denise Rossiter, CEO, has been a firm advocate of the concept since first hearing about it and her support and belief in StartUp Revolution have been second to none. The Essex Chambers provide a huge wealth of contacts and ideas to promote your business – we are still working our way through the list!
Our first month of trading has seen us take on our first customers – no mean feat. With a pipeline steadily building we are in positive mood to take StartUp Revolution as far as we can! Watch this space early next year when look to add a second wave of complementary services for SMEs, including Health and Safety, Legal Services and an Insurance Broker.

It's Show Time
The immediate future sees us exhibiting at the StartUp Exhibition in Earls Court in London on 17th and 18th November (next week!). Entrance is FREE with numbers expected to be 250% higher than 2010.
MEET THE STARTUP REVOLUTION TEAM
Most of you will recognise Paul and Joy from Paper Mountain Solutions. Between them they provide the administration and financial solutions within the StartUp Revolution suite of products.
You may not be so familiar with Jane and Mark Hyde from
iSite-Media. With a background designing magazines and websites for high profile clients such as Rolls-Royce, British Telecom and Trinity Mirror, Mark brings a professional and fresh design ethos, with a bit of fun and lots of flair to the mix (check out the Paper Mountain and StartUp Revolution websites!). Jane has worked as national magazine editor and copywriter so is fully conversant with getting your business message across, particularly within a social media context. All of the team will be at this year's Business Startup Show, we'd love for you to come and say hello.
